The Economy, Huckabee’s Campaign on ‘Arkansas Week’

The latest “Arkansas Week” is available now here. This week, myself, Steve Barnes, Roy Ockert, Rick Fahr and Hoyt Purvis talk about the economy, Acxiom and Mike Huckabee’s improving chances in the run for president.

Acxiom, Huckabee, FOI on ‘Arkansas Week’

The latest episode of AETN’s “Arkansas Week” up here. (And you can catch the podcast here.)

This week, I was on the panel with Hoyt Purvis of the UA journalism department, Joe Halm of the Wynne Progress and David Sanders, who writes for Stephens Media Group (and is in the final stages of writing a book on Arkansas politics).

I was drafted at the last minute to talk Acxiom, whose sell out deal imploded last week, with company executives announcing retirements and the prospect of more layoffs looming. We also talked about presidential campaign fund-raising, and why Mike Huckabee just can’t seem to raise enough money to take his campaign to the next level.

One thing we didn’t have time to get to: the severance tax. But I feel like we’ll be hearing much more about that as the year goes on. Plenty to talk about there.
