Arkansas Business Surveys State Business Leaders

Today on the results of our first Arkansas Business/Market-Search Inc. Tanc survey of the state’s business leaders. The survey, conducted in June, polled 1,200 Arkansas business leaders on their business expectations for 2008. Perhaps surprisingly, optimism prevails:

Three out of four expected their company’s revenue to either remain stable or increase in 2008. Revenue optimists (those looking for growth of 3 percent or better) outnumbered revenue pessimists (those looking for declines of 3 percent or worse) by nearly 3 to 1.

Seventy-six percent expected stable or improved business.

In this first Inc. Tanc project, 12,500 e-mail invitations were sent to potential survey respondents on June 4. The survey period ended June 30 and produced 1,184 completed forms. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percent.

Arkansas Business created the survey with Market-Search, the research division of Mangan Holcomb Partners, an advertising, marketing and public relations firm in Little Rock.

You can check out the results of the full survey here. And watch KTHV-TV, Channel 11, at 6 p.m. tonight for more on the survey, including a report by Melissa Dunbar-Gates.
