Talking Journalism Careers at Arkansas State University

The ol' stompin' grounds

Blogging will be light-to-nonexistent today as a travel the great northeast — northeast Arkansas, that is — to speak about journalism careers at Arkansas State University‘s College of Communications. No doubt there will be lots of questions about the current job market and the various issues facing the profession, so it should be an interesting day.

If you’re around, the “Into the Future” career panel for journalism majors begins at 2 p.m. in Comm 233. I’m on a panel with fellow ASU journalism alumni Bianca Phillips, editor and writer for the Memphis Flyer and Memphis Magazine, and Candace Martin, director of business and community services for the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The ASU student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is sponsoring the panel.

Here’s hoping for good weather for a nice drive. I hope to Twitter. Though not while driving.
