Blanche Lincoln and Bill Halter: TV Spot to Head-to-Head, Round 1

U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., the embattled incumbent not only facing a line of wanna-be GOP challengers but also a primary fight with Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, has finally gotten around to releasing her first TV ad, about two days after Halter debuted his 30 sec spot.

I suppose Lincoln’s spot is no goofier than Halter’s, high school football coach in tow. Lincoln’s message — that Washington is made of up a bunch of children — might be stronger had she not spent the last decade or so, er, in Washington. But I get what she’s trying to say: she’s been the adult and voted against the crazy spending.

Here’s both of them, head to head. What do you think? Snap judgements welcome in comments.

Jason Tolbert, Max Brantley weigh in.

  1. Blanche.

Serious and hits the issues hard without being over bearing. Halter’s gig with his coach is worn out. Don’t do the same thing… 15x
